Fake Elden Ring Nightreign Test Invites Circulated by Scammers

by Aaliyah Mar 29,2025

Bandai Namco has started sending out emails to verify participation in the closed testing of Elden Ring: Nightreign, set for February 14–17, 2025. Those selected will be among the first to dive into the game's three-person cooperative mode, as outlined in the notification.

Given the high anticipation for Nightreign, scammers are taking advantage by circulating fake testing invitations. Reports indicate that some players have received emails that mimic official Bandai Namco communications, falsely inviting them to participate in the testing. These fraudulent emails contain links to deceptive websites resembling Steam.

Victims are prompted to log into these sites, only to lose access to their accounts. In some instances, these phishing attempts appear to come from friends' accounts. Fortunately, some affected players have successfully regained access to their accounts by reaching out to Steam support.

It's crucial to exercise caution with links and verify the authenticity of the sources. If in doubt, always rely on official channels and avoid clicking on suspicious links.

In Elden Ring: Nightreign, players will no longer have the option to leave messages within the game. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in an interview, stating that the approximately forty-minute duration of the gaming sessions does not allow enough time for players to send or check messages.

Due to the limited session length of about forty minutes, we've decided to disable the messaging feature to ensure a seamless gaming experience.
