Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types
Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each operation, offering diverse strategic options. With six distinct weapon types, players can tailor their builds to match their preferred playstyle. The game features three gun and three melee weapon types, all fully customizable. Let's explore each weapon type and its unique attributes:
Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered
New weapons are acquired through mission completion or purchase from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are predetermined, players have complete control over their own and their Accessory's weaponry. Switching weapons incurs no penalties or benefits.
Weapon Type | Traits |
---|---|
Light Melee | Quick attacks ideal for swift combat, effective against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee | Wide-sweeping attacks delivering high damage. Well-placed attacks can hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
Polearm | Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for substantial ranged damage. |
Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with the Thorne for strategic advantage. |
Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage with low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. |
Autocannons | High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the high fire rate compensates. Reduces movement speed. |
Unlike the player character, the Accessory's gun weapons have unlimited ammo.
