Blue Protocol: Global Release Canceled, Japan Servers Shutting Down

Player Compensation and Final Updates

Blue Protocol Global Release Canceled as Japan Servers Close DownBandai Namco confirmed that Japanese servers for Blue Protocol will cease operation on January 18, 2025. Consequently, the planned international launch, a collaboration with Amazon Games, is also canceled. The company cited its inability to deliver a consistently satisfying service as the primary reason for this decision.

In their official statement, Bandai Namco expressed regret over the cancellation, stating they couldn't maintain a service meeting player expectations. They also acknowledged their disappointment in halting global development with Amazon Games.

Despite the closure, Bandai Namco plans to continue supporting Blue Protocol with updates and new content until its final day. However, Rose Orb purchases and refunds will be discontinued. As compensation, players will receive 5,000 Rose Orbs monthly (starting September 2024) and 250 Rose Orbs daily. Furthermore, Season Passes, beginning with Season 9, will be free, and the final update (Chapter 7) is slated for December 18, 2024.

Blue Protocol Global Release Canceled as Japan Servers Close DownLaunched in Japan in June 2023, Blue Protocol initially attracted significant attention, boasting over 200,000 concurrent players. However, early server issues and subsequent player dissatisfaction led to a rapid decline in its player base.

Despite its strong initial performance, Blue Protocol ultimately failed to retain players and meet Bandai Namco's financial projections. The game's underperformance, previously noted in their financial report (ending March 31, 2024), directly contributed to this difficult decision.
