Slaying monsters is exhilarating, but sometimes, capturing them is the key to unlocking all their valuable parts. Here's a detailed guide on how to capture monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.
The process of capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is straightforward yet thrilling. To successfully capture a monster, you need to weaken it first, then strategically use traps and tranquilizers. Here’s how you can do it effectively:
Begin by damaging the monster until it's sufficiently weakened. Your Palico will alert you when the monster is in a weakened state. Look out for other indicators such as a skull icon appearing over the monster on your minimap, and physical signs like limping or drooling, which signal that the monster's HP is low.
Once the monster is weak, it's time to set your trap. You have two options: a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap. Place the trap on the ground and lure the monster into it. When the monster steps into the trap, it will be immobilized for a short period. This is your cue to use Tranq Bombs. One or two should suffice to subdue the monster. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades, depending on your weapon and playstyle.
Successfully capturing the monster will complete the quest and transport you back to Base Camp.
While your Palico might occasionally set traps, it's wise to come prepared with your own. There are two types of traps at your disposal: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. To craft a Pitfall Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and either Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, you'll require a Trap Tool and a Thunderbug Capacitor.
For tranquilizers, crafting a Tranq Bomb involves combining a Sleep Herb with a Parashroom. These Tranq Bombs can then be used to create Tranq Blades when combined with Throwing Knives, or Tranq Ammo when mixed with Normal Ammo.
