Bandai's highly anticipated GUNDAM trading card game (TCG) was unveiled on September 27th, with full details promised at a later date. Here's what we know so far.
The official announcement of a GUNDAM TCG has thrilled fans worldwide! A promotional video was posted on the official GUNDAM TCG X (formerly Twitter) account on September 27th, launching the "#GUNDAM" global TCG project. This coincides with the Mobile Suit Gundam 45th anniversary celebrations. Whether the game will be solely physical or include online capabilities remains unconfirmed.
Complete details will be unveiled on October 3rd at 7 PM JST during Bandai's CARD GAMES Next Plan Announcement livestream on the official Bandai YouTube channel. The event will feature popular actors Kanata Hongo and Kotoko Sasaki, and former TV Tokyo announcer Shohei Taguchi. Hongo, a known GUNPLA enthusiast, previously participated in the GUNPLA 40th Anniversary Project in 2020, demonstrating his passion for both GUNPLA and the Gundam franchise.
Anticipation is high, with fans drawing comparisons to Bandai's discontinued TCGs like Super Robot Wars V Crusade and Gundam War, even referring to the new game as "Gundam War 2.0." For the latest updates, follow the official GUNDAM TCG X account.
