Following the successful launch of Quidditch Champions, Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed development of a sequel to the immensely popular Hogwarts Legacy, the best-selling game of 2023.

During the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels announced plans for a Hogwarts Legacy sequel. The original game, a critically acclaimed action RPG based on the Harry Potter universe, has sold over 24 million copies since its release.

"Developing a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is a top priority for us in the coming years," Wiedenfels stated, as reported by Variety. "We anticipate significant growth from our games division, and this sequel will be a major contributor."

Warner Bros. Games President David Haddad previously highlighted the game's remarkable replayability as a key factor in its success. In an earlier interview with Variety, Haddad emphasized that many players have enjoyed the game multiple times. He further praised the game's ability to bring the Harry Potter world to life in a fresh and engaging way for gamers, allowing them to immerse themselves in the story and create their own unique experiences. This resonated strongly with fans, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the sales charts, a position typically occupied by established franchises' sequels.
