Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops

by Jason Apr 11,2025

Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a substantial free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – version 1.2. This update brings two exciting new features to the game: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.

The integration with Steam Workshop makes it easier than ever to download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. This feature, however, hinges on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. As of now, there's a modest selection of mods available, including:

  • Free Saving: This mod grants players the ability to save unlimited times by automatically replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it's used or lost.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique horned helmet inspired by historical designs to your arsenal.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, allowing players to explore otherwise restricted story locations freely.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra, complete with a distinctive visual effect.

While the initial mod selection is limited, the vibrant modding community is poised to expand its offerings rapidly. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to share their work across both platforms. Although Steam Workshop may not match the scale of Nexus Mods, it's anticipated that popular mods will soon find their way there.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. Choosing a new look at the barber shop temporarily enhances the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a fun and strategic element to personal appearance.

Update 1.2 extends far beyond these features, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog available on the game's official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements affecting nearly every aspect of the game. These enhancements include balancing adjustments, refined animations, and improved NPC behavior. Notably, the crime system has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Additional notable updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs to create more realistic routines.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and an improved horse trading system.
  • Upgraded character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg (the game's largest city) and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to explore these changes in more detail during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to supporting Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, with three paid DLC expansions set to be released in the coming spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, providing players with an ever-richer medieval experience.
