Larian Seeks Players to Test Baldur

Larian Studios has announced that the Patch 8 stress test build for Baldur's Gate 3 is set to launch in January. This exciting update will be accessible to players on Steam for PC, as well as on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Unfortunately, players on Mac and those using GOG will not have access to this stress test. If you're eager to participate, the interest registration form is now open and waiting for your submission.

In preparation for the full release of Patch 8, Larian Studios plans to "rigorously" test the build to ensure there are no issues with instability or gameplay. The developer humorously noted, "With your help, we’ll be able to keep an eye on any funny business." A key aspect of this testing phase is the introduction of crossplay functionality. Larian acknowledged the challenge, stating, "Bringing crossplay to a game the size of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been no easy task," and they're calling on the community to help test-drive this new feature.

To get the most out of the stress test, Larian encourages players to share the registration link with friends to embark on a crossplay campaign together. Alternatively, you can join the Larian Studios Discord Server to find a group to play with and dive into the action.

Although Patch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios remains committed to supporting the game's modding community. The developer has teased "big updates still to come," including enhancements that will empower players to craft their own narratives. Since the release of the official mod tools in September, the community has been incredibly active, downloading over 70 million modules and uploading more than 3,000 mods. This vibrant modding scene promises to keep the game fresh and exciting for years to come.
