Tencent's Polaris Quest Unveils Ambitious Open-World RPG, Light of Motiram, for Mobile
Today brings exciting news! Following the Project Mugen title reveal, Tencent confirms its Polaris Quest studio is bringing the expansive open-world RPG, Light of Motiram, to mobile devices.
Initially announced for Epic Games Store, Steam, and PlayStation 5 via Chinese social media (reported by Gematsu), the game's inclusion on mobile is particularly noteworthy given its impressive visuals and feature set.
Defining Light of Motiram is challenging; its gameplay blends multiple genres. Is it a Genshin Impact clone? Perhaps, with its open-world RPG elements. But the base-building mechanics evoke Rust, while the giant customizable mechanical creatures suggest a blend of Horizon Zero Dawn and even Palworld.
The game's eclectic mix of features, while potentially addressing concerns of plagiarism (understandably raised by Horizon fans), is both surprising and intriguing.
