Nintendo's upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom offers a unique twist: Zelda takes center stage in her first solo adventure, but the ESRB rating reveals a surprising element – Link is also playable!
Zelda and Link: A Dual Protagonist Adventure

The ESRB listing confirms both Zelda and Link are playable characters in Echoes of Wisdom. While Zelda's quest focuses on sealing rifts across Hyrule and rescuing Link, the details surrounding Link's role remain somewhat mysterious. The game's E 10+ rating and absence of microtransactions are also confirmed.
The description highlights Zelda's magic wand, summoning creatures like wind-up knights and slime for combat, while Link utilizes his classic sword and arrows. Enemy defeat methods vary, with some burning and others dissolving into mist.
This marks a pivotal moment for the Zelda franchise, showcasing Princess Zelda as the lead protagonist for the first time. The game's popularity is evident, holding the top spot on many wishlists following its summer showcase reveal.
The extent of Link's playable segments, however, is still unknown. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches September 26, 2024.
Hyrule Edition Switch Lite: Pre-Orders Open!
To coincide with the game's release, Nintendo offers a special Zelda-themed Hyrule Edition Switch Lite, available for pre-order. This golden console, adorned with the Hyrule crest and Triforce symbol, doesn't include the game but bundles a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription for $49.99.
