Marvel's Fantastic Four Trailer Debuts, Teases Galactus

Marvel Studios has unveiled the highly anticipated debut trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, offering fans their first glimpse into what promises to be a monumental superhero film in 2025. The trailer introduces Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and The Thing, alongside the formidable supervillain, Galactus. Opening with a dinner scene at the Baxter Building, the trailer showcases the film's captivating 1960s retro-futuristic aesthetic and hints at an epic battle unfolding in New York City.

We see Ben Grimm's transformation into The Thing, alongside H.E.R.B.I.E. (Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics), both seemingly engrossed in culinary pursuits. Elsewhere, Sue Storm briefly displays her powers as Invisible Woman, and Johnny Storm takes flight as the Human Torch. While Reed Richards' stretchy abilities as Mr. Fantastic aren't prominently featured in this initial trailer, the appearance of John Malkovich, rumored to be playing Ivan Kragoff (the Red Ghost), adds another layer of intrigue.

The trailer's launch event at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, saw stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach interacting with enthusiastic fans.

Set for release on July 25, 2025, this upcoming MCU installment stars Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, alongside Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Matt Shakman directs, with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige producing.

And if Galactus’ plan to consume the planet weren't enough, the stakes suddenly become intensely personal.

Speculation is rife among fans regarding a potential appearance by Robert Downey, Jr. as Doctor Doom, either within The Fantastic Four: First Steps itself or through a teasing cameo. Feige has confirmed the Fantastic Four's presence in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
