Insomniac's Recent Job Posting Hints at Early Development of Marvel's Spider-Man 3

A newly surfaced job posting at Insomniac Games suggests the early stages of production for Marvel's Spider-Man 3. This follows the immense critical and commercial success of Insomniac's previous Spider-Man titles, and the numerous unresolved plot points left hanging in 2023's Spider-Man 2. While Insomniac has confirmed Spider-Man 3's development, details remain scarce.

Speculation surrounding Spider-Man 3 intensified after its inclusion in a leaked Insomniac game list following the PS5 release of Spider-Man 2. Leaks also suggest the introduction of new characters to the Insomniac universe within this installment. However, a release date is likely still years away.

The job listing, for a Senior UX Researcher, specifies involvement in a AAA title currently in early production, requiring a three-month stint at Insomniac's Burbank UX Lab.

Considering past leaks, Marvel's Spider-Man 3 appears the most likely candidate. Marvel's Wolverine, reportedly in development for several years, is said to be progressing smoothly. Rumors of a Venom-centric spin-off/sequel to Spider-Man 2, potentially releasing this year, are also circulating, making it an unlikely fit for the "early production" description.

This leaves either Spider-Man 3 or a rumored Ratchet and Clank title slated for 2029. Given Insomniac's current focus on its expanding Marvel universe, Spider-Man 3 is the more probable option, though this remains speculative. Regardless, the existence of a new Insomniac game in early development is exciting news for PlayStation enthusiasts.
