Monster Hunter Wilds Developers Share Console Specs, PC Spec Adjustments, and More in Pre-Launch Update

Capcom recently released a pre-launch community update video for Monster Hunter Wilds, detailing console performance targets, weapon adjustments, and a potential second open beta test. The video, featuring director Yuya Tokuda and other staff, addressed player feedback following the Open Beta Test (OBT).

Console Performance: A Look at PS5, Xbox Series X|S

The update confirmed performance modes for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X:

• Prioritize Graphics: 4K resolution at 30fps.
• Prioritize Framerate: 1080p resolution at 60fps.

Xbox Series S will run natively at 1080p resolution and 30fps. A rendering bug affecting the framerate mode has been resolved, resulting in improved performance. While enhanced graphics are promised for the PS5 Pro version at launch, specific details remain undisclosed.

PC Specs: Lower Minimum Requirements Incoming

While initial PC specifications were previously released, Capcom announced plans to lower the minimum requirements to expand accessibility. Further details will be revealed closer to the release date. The possibility of a PC benchmark tool is also being considered.

Second Open Beta Test Under Consideration

The team discussed the possibility of a second open beta test, primarily to allow players who missed the first opportunity to experience the game. However, this potential second beta would not include the improvements and adjustments detailed in the recent update; these changes will be present only in the full release.

Gameplay Refinements:

The livestream also highlighted adjustments to hitstop and sound effects for a more impactful feel, mitigation of friendly fire incidents, and weapon tweaks and improvements, focusing on the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Lance.
