Neon Spellstorm Roguelite Opens Pre-Registration

Neon Spellstorm, an upcoming action title from TopCog, is now open for pre-registration. This roguelite bullet heaven shares a thematic focus with the developer's other major releases: wizards. TopCog's previous work includes the Tap Wizard series and WizUp.

Sprint Along a Deteriorating Neon Pathway

As you dash forward along a neon path that disintegrates behind you, you'll unleash spells in all directions. Players take on the role of a wizard in a low-tech cyberpunk universe, complete with pixel art aesthetics and glitch-inspired visuals.

The game features 28 different spells to experiment with. You'll combine various effects such as echo, havoc, behemoth, and aftershock. Linking multiple spells together creates more powerful combinations. Additionally, 74 unique trinkets are available for crafting truly unconventional builds.

Since you can never predict which trinkets or spells you'll acquire, each playthrough remains fresh and engaging. During your runs, you'll gather Orbs, Stars, Gems, and Neon resources. These can be spent at the Neon Core to unlock new upgrades and magical abilities.

Neon Spellstorm utilizes a 2.5D mixed-media approach, blending 2D sprites with low-poly 3D models for a distinctive hybrid visual style. See it in action below.

Before each run, you can customize your wizard by selecting from six distinct characters. You'll also choose spells, fates, archetypes, and sigils to align with your strategic approach. Once the action begins, you determine how to navigate and conquer the game's maps.

Android Pre-Registration for Neon Spellstorm Now Available

The game is available for pre-registration on the Google Play Store. Upon release, players can try the demo for free, with a single in-app purchase required to access the complete game. The anticipated mobile launch date is August 11, 2025.

Developers have cited several influential titles that inspired the game's style and mechanics, including Hades, Bastion, Risk of Rain 2, Slay the Spire, and TopCog's own Tap Wizard 2. The final product aims to deliver on its considerable promise.
