NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one stands out for fans of Square Enix: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats.
The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to progress the story until you return as 2B. Alternatively, utilize Chapter Select and jump directly to Chapter 9 for quicker access. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point room, follow the path to the right (a 2D camera perspective will activate). You'll pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. After crossing the press-laden belt, climb to a cylindrical area with spider-like enemies.
Enter the door on your left, ascending further stairs with exploding enemies. Midway, the railing ends, and the platform extends towards the camera. Moving forward shifts the camera angle, initiating another 2D platforming section across the presses (leftward). The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest, with a locked chest to the right.
Caution: Exploding enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach.
- Attack: 160-200
This weapon allows four upgrades, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe's unpredictable damage, the Engine Blade boasts a more consistent damage output, offering greater damage predictability.
