Palworld 0.5.0 Update: Crossplay, Blueprint Upgrades, Photo Mode Added

Palworld has rolled out its exciting new update, version 0.5.0, bringing with it a host of features that are set to enhance the gaming experience across all platforms. One of the headline additions is crossplay, allowing players to seamlessly connect and play together regardless of their chosen device. This update also introduces the Global Palbox, enabling players to store and transfer their Pal data between different worlds, which adds a new layer of strategy and flexibility to the gameplay.

The new Dimensional Pal Storage system is another significant upgrade, boasting a capacity 10 times that of the regular Palbox. This storage can be accessed by guild members, but it also offers private settings for personal use, making it a versatile tool for managing your Pals. Additionally, the update brings a cosmetic armour system, allowing you to change your character's appearance using the Antique Dresser without impacting your armor stats. This feature adds a fun and customizable element to the game, enhancing player immersion and style.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the new Photo Mode, accessible via the Pal Command Wheel, which lets you hide the UI and take stunning in-game screenshots. The introduction of a Drafting Table enables players to combine low-rarity blueprints to create higher-rarity ones, adding depth to the crafting system. Dedicated servers for Mac users have also been included, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a smooth gaming experience.

Beyond these new features, Palworld's update 0.5.0 includes various specification adjustments. For instance, buildings can now overlap with Pals, and foundations and roofs will automatically align when connected. Assigning an Ice Pal to the Flea Market slows down item decay, and torches have been added to random dungeon entrances for better visibility. Players can now sit on chairs and cushions, enhancing the realism of the in-game environment.

Balance adjustments have also been made to improve gameplay dynamics. Elemental chest rewards have been tweaked to always drop Dog Coins, with a chance of containing work suitability books. The EXP gained from defeating the Attack Chopper has been increased, and Flamethrowers now deal higher DPS. Additionally, some human NPCs now have work suitability and animations when assigned tasks at a base, and raid bosses can no longer damage other bases.

The UI has seen several enhancements, including categorized favorites, continuous value adjustment in the Pal Soul Enhancement UI, and new sorting options for the Pal Box. An "Extra Large" text size option and Fullscreen Mode have also been added for better accessibility and immersion.

New achievements have been introduced, giving players more goals to strive for, and numerous bug fixes have been implemented to improve the overall stability of the game. Issues such as players being launched into space while climbing or flying over water have been resolved, along with other gameplay and server-related bugs.

Developer Pocketpair is actively working on adding dedicated servers for the PlayStation 5 version, which will be released in the future. Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players. The studio has laid out a content roadmap for 2025, promising more new content, including an "ending scenario," to keep the game's community engaged.

Launched on Steam for $30 and available on Game Pass for Xbox and PC, Palworld broke sales and concurrent player number records. The success led Pocketpair to form Palworld Entertainment with Sony, aiming to expand the IP and bring the game to PS5. However, the game's success has not been without challenges, as Pocketpair faces a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over alleged patent infringements. The studio has responded by tweaking certain gameplay mechanics and vows to defend its position in court.
