Palworld Dating Sim Confirmed: Not an April Fools' Joke, Says Developer

by Adam May 13,2025

Developer Pocketpair has exciting news for fans of their popular monster-catching universe: they've announced Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim that promises to add a romantic twist to the Palworld experience. Announced on March 31, 2025, this is no April Fools' Day prank; Pocketpair is serious about expanding their universe with this new title.

Given the timing, fans might be skeptical, as April Fools' Day is notorious for fake game announcements. However, Pocketpair assures everyone that Palworld! More Than Just Pals is indeed a real game, inspired by their 2024 April Fools' Day stunt. This dating sim will be available on PC via Steam, though a specific release date has yet to be revealed.

Palworld! More Than Just Pals introduces players to the world of Palagos Private Academy, where they enroll as a transfer student. Here, players can befriend and potentially fall in love with a variety of student Pals, each with unique traits. Characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet are highlighted on the game's official Steam page. The game offers players the freedom to navigate their relationships, choosing whether to remain friends, pursue romance, or take a more macabre path with their Pals.

Pocketpair's commitment to this project is clear, and they're eager to dispel any doubts about its legitimacy. Bucky, a representative from Palworld, confirmed on social media that this announcement is no joke.

As Palworld itself continues to evolve, celebrating its one-year anniversary in January 2025, fans have much to look forward to. Recent updates have brought crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode, keeping the community engaged while they await Palworld! More Than Just Pals. There's also a glimmer of hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld, and fans are hopeful that the dating sim might eventually make its way to the console as well.
