When Does Every Party Member Join In Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Metaphor: ReFantazio's expanding party: A guide to recruitment timing.

Beyond the protagonist, seven companions will join your adventure in Metaphor: ReFantazio, each contributing their unique combat skills. Gallica joins early but has limited initial combat participation.

Each party member's arrival is tied to specific story events. While some join immediately after their introduction, others require further progression. Note that some characters' appearances might surprise you.

Party Member Recruitment Dates in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Each party member awakens to a unique Archetype, usable by any party member once unlocked. Early recruits may be initially AI-controlled. Later members typically awaken just before their first combat appearance.

• Strohl (Warrior): Joins on June 5th (6/5) during the Border Fort events, but his Archetype activates the following day, June 6th (6/6), in the Nord Mines. Until then, he's AI-controlled.

• Grius: Joins after the Border Fort events, but becomes combat-ready on June 6th (6/6). While an Archetype can be assigned, Grius doesn't undergo the same awakening process as others.

• Hulkenberg (Knight): First interacts with the party on June 10th (6/10), fully joining and awakening her Archetype during the next day's boss fight on June 11th (6/11).

• Heismay (Thief): Heismay's awakening and party integration occur on July 4th (7/4) within Martira's main dungeon, during a largely linear story section.

• Junah (Masked Dancer): Junah's awakening and party entry happen on August 13th (8/13).

• Eupha (Summoner): Eupha's recruitment is more flexible. Completing the Dragon Temple Dungeon between August 19th (8/19) and September 4th (9/4) during Viraga Island's free time period adds her to the party for the final boss. However, her Bond quest only becomes available after this period.

• Basilio (Berserker): Awakens and joins the party during the Saint's Day events on September 11th (9/11), though combat use is delayed until the next day, should you choose to deploy him.
