People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring a new game to life, codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specifics about the project remain under wraps.
The studio is currently juggling an impressive lineup of projects, each with its own unique codename. Among these are Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. Another project, Project Echo, is being crafted with Krafton, while Project Red appears to be another venture with Sony. Additionally, People Can Fly recently announced that Project Bison, their venture into VR, would be their last in that realm.
In recent developments, People Can Fly made the tough decision to suspend work on Project Victoria last December and scale down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, the studio also announced the cancellation of Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
With such a diverse portfolio and ongoing collaborations with major players in the gaming industry, People Can Fly continues to be a significant force in game development, promising exciting new titles for gamers to look forward to.
