Pokémon Go is getting ready for Christmas with the Holiday Part 1 event later this month

Get ready for Pokémon Go's Holiday festivities! Part One of Niantic's Holiday event runs from December 17th to 22nd, bringing double XP for catching Pokémon, halved Egg hatch distances, and exciting seasonal encounters.

This event introduces a costumed Dedenne (with a shiny variant!), and the first-ever appearance of Shiny Sandygast. Wild encounters include Alolan Sandshrew, Swinub, and Darumaka. Raids offer a festive roster: one-star raids feature costumed Pikachu and Psyduck; three-star raids include Glaceon (Undersea Holiday outfit) and Cryogonal; and Mega Raids star Mega Latias and Mega Latios.

Seven-kilometer Eggs hold the possibility of hatching Hisuian Growlithe or a ribbon-adorned Cubchoo. Complete event-themed Field Research tasks (including a $2.00 Timed Research) for encounters with costumed Pokémon, Premium Battle Passes, and more.
