Popular online personalities teamed up with The Pokémon Company to achieve a remarkable feat: opening over 20,000 Pokémon TCG cards in a non-stop 24-hour livestream, setting a new Guinness World Record!

A Record-Breaking Livestream

On November 26th, 2024, The Pokémon Company International shattered the record for the longest unboxing livestream, celebrating the launch of the Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks expansion. The event, broadcast on Pokémon's Twitch channel, featured influencers such as Serebii's Joe Merrick, PokeGirl Ranch, and Mayplaystv, who opened thousands of booster packs and other Pokémon products. The final count? Over 20,000 cards!

Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokémon Company International, expressed his excitement, stating, "It's been an incredible 24 hours, and we're thrilled to have achieved this ambitious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title." The collected cards will be donated to charities, including Barnardo's in the UK. Further giveaways are planned on participating content creators' channels in the coming weeks.
