Launches in Japan in June 2025

The Pokémon Company, in partnership with the esteemed Japanese comic publisher Shogakukan, is set to launch an official encyclopedia dedicated to the behaviors and ecology of Pokémon. Shogakukan made the exciting announcement on their website on April 21, revealing that Pokécology will hit the shelves in Japan on June 18, 2025.

Pre-orders for this eagerly anticipated book are now open at bookstores across Japan. Priced at 1,430 yen (tax included), Pokécology promises to be a valuable addition to any Pokémon fan's collection. While there's no official word yet on a global release, given the worldwide popularity of Pokémon, fans can look forward to an English version in the near future.

Pokémon Ecology Encyclopedia

This official Pokémon encyclopedia will delve deep into the ecology of these beloved creatures, offering a comprehensive analysis from various scientific perspectives. Pokécology will cover essential aspects such as the diet, sleep patterns, physical characteristics, and interactions of Pokémon with their environment and other species.

The book is crafted by a team of distinguished experts, including veterinary behaviorists and ecology doctors from the University of Tokyo. Ecologist Yoshinari Yonehara, the book's lead author, spearheaded the research on wild Pokémon behavior.
