If you're a fan of the Metroidvania genre and have exhausted the mobile offerings, you're in for a treat with the upcoming game, ReSetna. Set to launch on mobile in mid-2025, this title promises over 20 hours of intense side-scrolling action, and you can already explore previews to get a taste of what's in store.
In ReSetna, you step into a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is extinct, and machines have taken over. However, these machines are also succumbing to time's decay. As ReSetna, a highly advanced robot, you're tasked with resetting the future through your actions.
The game offers everything you'd expect from a Metroidvania, including advanced movement mechanics like dashing and wall-jumping, challenging boss battles, and exploration across seven unique regions. Additionally, you can enhance your character using an innovative Tetronimo-style upgrade system.
The Metroidvania genre, though somewhat clichéd, remains beloved for its engaging gameplay and navigable side-scrolling maps. While it's tough to create a game that doesn't flow well within this genre, we'll need to experience ReSetna firsthand to see if it meets its ambitious goals. Although the mobile release is scheduled for mid-2025, you can dive into the game right now on Steam.
