Resident Evil's mastermind, Shinji Mikami, recently expressed strong interest in a Killer7 sequel during a presentation alongside the game's creator, Suda51. This sparked excitement among fans of the cult classic.
Killer7, a 2005 action-adventure game blending horror, mystery, and Suda51's signature style, follows Harman Smith and his seven alter egos. While it gained a devoted following, a sequel remained elusive. Even after a 2018 PC remaster, Suda51 wanted to fully realize his original vision, suggesting a "Complete Edition" to restore cut content, particularly extensive dialogue for the character Coyote. Mikami playfully countered, but the team acknowledged the potential of a Complete Edition.
The prospect of a sequel or remaster sent fans into a celebratory uproar. While no firm commitments were made, the developers' shared enthusiasm has generated significant buzz. The ultimate decision, according to Suda51, rests on whether a "Killer7: Beyond" or a Complete Edition will come first.
