Finnish studio Phantom Gamelabs has announced a global launch date of September 3rd for its action RPG, Riftbusters, on iOS and Android, with pre-registrations now open. The game saw an open beta last year, and anticipation has been building since.
It’s easy to see why. Looter shooters have a massive audience for good reason: that addictive loop of chasing better gear and weaponry resonates with many players. Even a minor upgrade to your loadout can deliver a real sense of progress and reward.
Riftbusters distills that core loop into a more bite-sized format. Instead of delivering a fully complex experience, Phantom Gamelabs is focusing on a more accessible take on the genre, streamlining some of its typically granular systems. While purists might view that as a drawback, the simplified approach lowers the barrier to entry—ideal for mobile players who want to jump in for just a few missions at a time.

Besides the broadly described “accessible” design, Riftbusters delivers the expected action. You’ll team up with other players to battle hordes of alien creatures using an arsenal of weapons and abilities. Between fights, you can upgrade your gear, unlock new skills, and fine-tune your preferred playstyle.
As the trailer shows, the game features a bright, cartoony art style reminiscent of titles like Fortnite. It also draws clear inspiration from games like Mo.co, placing it in a crowded but popular niche. Riftbusters won’t be without competition, especially with titles like Destiny: Rising also on the horizon.
Riftbusters arrives worldwide on the App Store and Google Play on September 3rd. Interested players can pre-register for their preferred platform using the links below.
