Rust, the renowned multiplayer survival game, has just launched an exciting update known as The Crafting Update. This major patch introduces a variety of new features designed to enhance players' creativity and survival strategies. One of the standout additions is the culinary workbench, allowing survivors to whip up gourmet meals such as grilled chicken legs and indulge in a shot of Siberian vodka. Cooking requires specific recipes, and mastering these dishes can offer significant stat boosts and gameplay modifiers, making meal preparation a strategic element in the game.
In this update, players can now raise chickens and chicks in specially designed coops. These coops serve as homes where the birds can live, lay eggs, and flourish, provided their four key needs are met: Hunger, Thirst, Love, and Sunlight. Failing to cater to these needs will lead to the demise of the birds. The chicken meat players obtain is perishable and will spoil over time, necessitating storage in a working refrigerator to remain edible. Additionally, food items now feature timers to alert players of their expiration dates, adding a layer of realism and urgency to resource management.
For those with a penchant for sweets, the update introduces wild beehives found on trees. Extracting honeycombs from these hives requires careful relocation to player-crafted hives made from wooden boxes. However, dealing with bees can be hazardous, prompting players to wear protective suits, use water as a deterrent, or resort to flamethrowers. A unique addition to the arsenal is the Bee Grenade, which looks like a jar of honey but unleashes three swarms of aggressive bees upon shattering, forcing opponents to scatter in panic.
The engineering workbench has undergone a significant overhaul, now boasting a separate tech tree dedicated to plumbing and electricity. This enhancement empowers players to construct automated systems and even entire factories, revolutionizing the way they approach building and resource management. Moreover, the developers have introduced premium servers, which are exclusively available to players with a Rust inventory valued at a minimum of $15. This initiative aims to create a more refined gaming environment by filtering out cheaters and disruptive players, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience for dedicated Rust enthusiasts.
