by Mila Nov 11,2025

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is expanding once again with the upcoming worldwide release of Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together on March 28, 2025. This new set welcomes back the special Trainer’s Pokémon card type, showcasing iconic Pokémon alongside their famous trainers. Originally featured in the Gym Heroes expansion, these cards introduce unique battle strategies and distinctive abilities.

Alongside these exciting returns, the expansion will also introduce 16 new Pokémon ex, ultra-rare artwork cards, and hyper-rare gold-etched cards—many of which are also expected to appear in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Collectors and players can look forward to trading, collecting, and battling with these new additions in both the physical TCG and digital platforms like Pokémon TCG Live. Although Pokémon TCG Pocket isn't officially confirmed for this release, the game continues to grow, making it wise to watch for possible updates related to this expansion.

Trainer’s Pokémon Return with New Battle Strategies

Among the most anticipated features of Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together are the Trainer’s Pokémon cards, which highlight well-known Pokémon together with their trainers and provide powerful synergy in battles. Some of the most awaited cards in this series include:

N’s Zoroark ex
Lillie’s Clefairy ex
Iono’s Bellibolt ex
Hop’s Zacian ex

This initiative is part of Pokémon’s broader strategy to engage a wider audience and build a more inclusive TCG community. By offering the game in Latin American Spanish, more players can enjoy everything from casual play to competitive tournaments in their native language. It also paves the way for increased local events and a stronger foothold in Latin American Pokémon communities.

Digital Play and Future Expansions

Players of Pokémon TCG Live can begin collecting and battling with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together cards one day early, starting March 27, 2025. Although Pokémon TCG Pocket has not yet been confirmed for this expansion, the app is regularly updated with new features and card sets—so fans should keep an eye out for official news.
