Geoff Keighley, producer of Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) 2024, confirmed the absence of Hollow Knight: Silksong from the event's showcase, dashing the hopes of many fans.
Initial excitement arose from Keighley's initial announcement, which included a "+ More" section hinting at unannounced games. This fueled speculation about a long-awaited Silksong update, given the game's extended period of silence.
However, Keighley later clarified on Twitter (X), stating definitively, "Just to get this out of the way, no Silksong on Tuesday at ONL." He reassured fans that Team Cherry remains dedicated to the game's development.
While Silksong won't be present, the Gamescom ONL 2024 lineup still boasts a strong showing of anticipated titles, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Civilization 7, MARVEL Rivals, and others.
