Bypass those lengthy Monster Hunter Wilds cutscenes! While the game boasts a surprisingly engaging story and characters, some hunters just want to get straight to the action. Here's how to skip those cinematic interludes:
Skipping Cutscenes:
Simply hold down the 'Y' key on your keyboard, or the back button on your controller. Hold it for about a second to initiate the skip. If you're using a less common control scheme, experiment with button presses during a cutscene; the required input will be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.
Pausing Cutscenes:
Need a moment to catch your breath or ensure you haven't missed anything crucial? You can pause cutscenes during playback.
Rewatching Cutscenes:
Missed a stunning monster introduction or want to revisit a key story moment? Access your in-game menu to rewatch cutscenes at your leisure. Note that this might slightly disrupt the narrative flow, but it’s perfect for grabbing screenshots of those awesome monster reveals.
While many Monster Hunter cutscenes have felt unnecessary in the past, Wilds' cutscenes are mostly story-relevant. Skipping them is best reserved for subsequent playthroughs if you're already familiar with the narrative.
