Sony PlayStation State of Play Reportedly Set for Next Week

by Zachary Feb 27,2025

Sony's February PlayStation State of Play is reportedly scheduled for next week. Leaker NateTheHate, who correctly predicted the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal date, hinted at a State of Play during Valentine's Day week (February 10-14).

Speculation abounds! What might Sony unveil? Considering first-party titles slated for 2025, Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei is a strong contender for a gameplay reveal and release date announcement. Bungie's Marathon, a PvP extraction shooter, could also make an appearance if playtesting plans remain on track. Haven Studios' debut title, Fairgames, is another possibility. While less likely, new footage of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (also 2025) is a plausible scenario. Naughty Dog's new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine are also possibilities, though perhaps less likely for a major reveal at this point.

Notably absent will be the recently canceled live-service games from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games (reportedly a God of War live-service title). However, Guerrilla Games' live-service Horizon project reportedly survived the cuts; could this be its time to shine?

Which PlayStation Game Are You Most Looking Forward to Seeing at Sony's Next State of Play?

Microsoft's presence on PlayStation shouldn't be overlooked. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is nearing its PS5 release, potentially warranting a date announcement. Could State of Play also mark the long-awaited arrival of Halo on PlayStation?

Looking back at last year's State of Play offers clues. It showcased titles such as Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic Frontiers, various Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine's Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2.
