Hazelight's beloved co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has sold close to four million copies.

Publisher EA confirmed this milestone in its latest financial report, describing the game's launch as "massively successful" and highlighting it as a key factor in the company's strong finish to the 2025 fiscal year.

"4 MILLION COPIES SOLD!!!!" developer Hazelight celebrated on social media. "It's incredible to see so many of you already enjoying Split Fiction…

"Witnessing the fun you’re having with our game and the love you’re sharing for Mio, Zoe, and each other truly warms our hearts here at Hazelight. And how about all those hot dogs you’ve made…"

Split Fiction immerses players in the interconnected worlds of two fiction writers through a groundbreaking co-op experience that lets two people play together even if only one owns the game. Having launched just in March, it has quickly become another major success for Hazelight and director Josef Fares, surpassing 2 million sales within its first week. It's also confirmed as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, while Hazelight has already begun work on its next project.

A film adaptation of Hazelight’s game is also in development, with Story Kitchen—the video game adaptation studio behind the Sonic movies—reportedly assembling writers, a director, and a cast that will feature Sydney Sweeney.

In our IGN review of Split Fiction, we called it "a masterfully crafted and engrossing co-op adventure that seamlessly shifts between genre extremes," describing it as "a whirlwind of gameplay concepts and styles that evolve almost as quickly as they appear, keeping the experience brilliantly fresh throughout its 14-hour runtime."
