Split Fiction has achieved a historic milestone by setting a new Electronic Arts (EA) record on Steam for paid games. Its developers have captivated the global gaming community with a launch that surpassed all projections.
Shortly after its PC debut via Steam, Split Fiction delivered outstanding results, particularly when measured against other EA-published titles. SteamDB data shows the game reached a concurrent player peak exceeding 197,000—the highest ever for a paid EA title on the platform.
For comparison, Battlefield V, EA’s previous record-holder, peaked at around 116,000 players. The most-played game in EA’s portfolio, however, remains the free-to-play Apex Legends, which reached over 620,000 peak users.
Beyond its record-breaking numbers, Split Fiction has earned substantial acclaim from its player base. Steam reviews reflect an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating, with 98% of players recommending the game. This response not only underscores its commercial achievement but also its broad resonance with gamers around the world.
