"Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Developer Confirms Ongoing Development"

Saber Interactive has reassured fans that all of its previously announced games, including the highly anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake, are still actively in development despite the lack of recent updates. Following the announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber's Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits took to social media to affirm the studio's commitment to their projects.

"Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world," Willits stated. "We are working on numerous games across many different genres. Everything that we have talked about is still in development. We will share information on upcoming games when we have something cool to share."

The KOTOR remake, announced in 2021, has been a subject of much speculation due to its turbulent development history, including changes in development teams and apparent restarts. However, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed in April 2024 that the project remained with the studio after their split from Embracer Group and was still in active development. "It's clear and it's obvious that we're working on this," Karch stated at the time. "It's been in the press numerous times. What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we're dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations."

Willits' recent statement reaffirms Karch's earlier comments, though fans have yet to see any new material beyond the initial announcement video for the KOTOR remake. Saber Interactive's portfolio extends beyond KOTOR, with other titles like John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival slated for 2025, though specific release dates remain undisclosed. Additionally, the studio is developing a new Turok game and an untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender project. With the addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber Interactive continues to expand its diverse lineup of upcoming titles.
