UPDATE (1/19/25) - TikTok is back online in the U.S. after a brief outage.
A TikTok statement on X/Twitter explained that service restoration is underway, in collaboration with their service providers. The statement expressed gratitude to President Trump for providing assurances to these providers, preventing penalties for serving over 170 million American users and supporting over 7 million small businesses. The company also lauded the move as a victory for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship, pledging continued collaboration with President Trump for a long-term solution to maintain TikTok's U.S. presence.
