This quest, initiated by Casper Rudolf near his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City, involves a series of steps and a nested side quest that can be both challenging and rewarding. To start, you'll need to find Casper by entering through the east gate and heading straight until you see him. He's curious about the secret ingredient in the monks' wine, and your mission is to uncover it.

Speak with Casper and Havel

Begin by engaging Casper in conversation and exploring all dialogue options to gather information about Havel and a book he left with Adleta. This will give you insights on how to proceed. If you decide to retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall during the morning or afternoon. Bring five Marigolds with you, as they can be useful. You'll find Adleta in an open garden. Try to meet her before her brother Hugo arrives, or if Hugo is already there, seek his permission to talk to her. Be kind to Adleta and explain that you need the book for Casper. You can attempt a skill check to persuade her to give you the book or offer her the Marigolds as a gift in exchange for it. Once you have the book, make sure to read it from your inventory.

Alternatively, you can skip the book and go directly to Havel, who owns an inn in Kuttenberg City. To make a good impression on Havel, ensure your Charisma is at least 18 by choosing the right outfit and honing your drinking skills. When conversing with Havel, choose the following options:

• Germany. Let’s do it.
• That’s a very fine gift.
• Steinberger.
• It’s missing ginger.

These choices will lead Havel to reveal the monastery's secret ingredient. Return to Casper with this crucial information.

Find the Monastery’s Secret Ingredient

Your next stop is the vineyard north of Kuttenberg. Start the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest by speaking with the recruiter. This quest isn't mandatory, but it allows you to explore the vineyard freely. Inside, find Jerome, usually seated on a bench near the main building.

Sneak into the main building, turn left, and head to the storeroom. Use your lockpicking skills to open the chests and find the Sulphur Wicks, which are essential for Casper. If you're looking for extra Groschen, don't forget to visit the garden behind the main building and collect five seedlings before you leave.

To complete "Under the Straw Hat," you'll need to perform tasks such as removing plants around the vines and moving sacks. After completing enough work, report back to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Whether you choose to complete this side quest or not, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and seedlings if you've collected them.

With these steps completed, you'll successfully finish "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, allowing you to move on to other quests or perhaps spend time collecting badges and dice for a different kind of adventure.
