This guide details the "The Last Knight" side quest in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves region. It's a relatively short quest offering rewards and a glimpse into life outside Ragunna City.
The Last Knight unlocks after completing Chapter 2 of the main storyline ("What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing"). It's advisable to finish Chapter 2, Act 3 before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked until then.
Locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven. He's near the first house by the main road, marked by a blue quest marker.
This involves defeating the Mad Knight, who only appears at night (18:00 to 06:00). Find him at the town's central pool. He's not a difficult opponent.
After defeating the Mad Knight, go to the tallest tower and fly to Carlow (quest marker). He's unconscious near a purple flower. Touching the flower transports you to an area with chests. The first three are genuine; in the next set, only the second chest (middle-left) is real. Open it for rewards, then fight off the mimic chests that attack.
Follow quest markers and speak to NPCs to investigate the Mad Knight's reported locations.
Following a strange scent leads to a battle with a unique Chop Chop and invulnerable Leftless and Rightless enemies. A Questless Knight Echo is recommended for parrying and stunning the Chop Chop. Mr. Millkeeper reveals the "Mad Knight" legend was a fabrication.
Return to Egla Town during the day. Find Carlow in a town plaza; he'll be challenged by knights. The quest concludes with Carlow's decision to embrace a true protector's role, initiating a duel. You receive Union XP, Astrites, and resources upon completion.
