Russian scanwords are a unique global phenomenon. No other language offers such a wealth of literary questions, witty humor, and timely topics from around the world—all packed into traditional crosswords. It might seem surprising, but Russian culture deeply values words—cherishing, preserving, and honoring them as precious treasures.

The app features a variety of scanwords, from easy to challenging, with photos, classic clues, or associative hints like "one word" or "one word, two words" inspired by Elder Fur's style. Each issue includes an English-Russian scanword and a "holey" puzzle—you’ll soon see why it’s named that way. Every page introduces a friendly character from our cheerful family. Come join the fun!

All scanwords are completely free for readers. This annual collection includes 52–53 issues, each containing 20 scanwords. A full year’s worth of puzzles uses only about 50 MB of phone storage—thanks to compact images and text-only content. We respect your device’s space.

No internet connection is required to solve puzzles once the scanwords are downloaded. New issues are released every Friday. If you enable notifications, you’ll receive a weekly reminder at 12:00 local time. The app automatically downloads new issues when opened, and successful downloads are not repeated. You can also manually download or delete specific magazines, or use Settings to download all issues at once.

Core features, including access to all scanwords, are free for users. Advertising supports the app, with one narrow banner per page and a single interstitial ad before opening a scanword—never interrupting your solving flow. Plus, advertisers reward readers with free hints for watching short videos.

Readers have the option (but not the obligation) to remove ads by: a) disabling ads permanently, b) subscribing to turn off ads and unlock unlimited hints, or c) purchasing hint packs in bulk. These options are available in the "Shop" section.
