The Last of Us Will Probably Run for 4 Seasons, HBO Exec Says

HBO's critically acclaimed series, The Last of Us, is set to captivate audiences for potentially four seasons, according to Francesca Orsi, an executive at HBO. While Orsi hinted at the possibility of the show running for a total of four seasons, she was quick to add that there's no "complete or final plan" set in stone at the moment. "I wouldn't want to confirm that, but it's looking like this season and then two more seasons after this, and we're done," she shared with Deadline.

Fans eagerly awaiting the return of The Last of Us in April 2025 can look forward to new developments. Orsi teased, "There's certain elements in terms of the various factions that are competing for survival that reveal themselves as a really intriguing survivalist group, and I think they just have a quality to them that feels distinct in how they present it." She further elaborated on the unique approach to the show's visual storytelling, noting, "There’s a certain way [the show] is presenting them in wardrobe and makeup that feels really different than the average person."
