Amazon has once again taken a stance on Pokémon cards that fans seem to dread—overpriced listings. The Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection is currently listed for a jaw-dropping $259.99, which is almost three times its $89.99 MSRP. That’s an 189% markup for those keeping track! For comparison, Walmart previously offered it for a much more reasonable $59.99 last year.
If you're determined to own this set, TCG Player offers a slightly better deal at $224.43 (Market Price). While still steep, this saves you over $35 compared to Amazon, and at these prices, every dollar counts.

Let’s talk alternatives. The Super Premium Collection contains 15 booster packs, but you could build your own collection for less. Two Prismatic Evolutions Booster Bundles (12 packs) will cost approximately $137.98, or grab three for $206.92 to get 18 packs—more cards for your buck, albeit without the collector’s box and extras.
Or skip the gamble entirely. With Prismatic Evolutions singles trending downward, this might be the ideal time to snag specific cards you want without taking a chance. Big-box stores are the worst place to buy Pokémon cards right now, and the secondary market knows it.

A few top-tier pulls like Roaring Moon ex SIR and Vaporeon ex SIR remain stable or even rising, but several heavy-hitters in the Prismatic Evolutions set are dropping in value. This presents a unique buying opportunity.
Although suggesting cards priced over $200 are a deal might seem odd, pulling a Special Illustration Rare from this set is notoriously tough. The inclusion of Pokéball and Masterball reverse holos in the rare slots makes your chances slim. Booster packs are already over $10 each, and most players end up spending a fortune without results.
Take Sylveon ex SIR, for instance. Easily one of the most visually striking cards in the set, it’s dropped 28% in just a few weeks, from $562.60 in early May to around $400 for a near-mint copy today. If you’ve had your eye on it, this might be the sweet spot before prices rebound, and you’re unlikely to pull it from a single $260 Super Premium Collection box.
If you’re committed to pulling chase cards yourself, here’s what’s available in stock right now. Keep an eye out for pricing above MSRP—we’re in a tricky period for Pokémon trainers, so avoid paying more than necessary.
If you’re desperate for big-box retailer products, here they are. Just ensure you’re savvy before purchasing, as TCG Player is typically cheaper in this climate.
