In the typically ego-driven world of hero shooters, *Marvel Rivals* throws a curveball: assist-based challenges. Securing these assists, however, proves trickier than expected. This guide explains how to rack up assists and highlights the best characters to use.
While *Marvel Rivals*' stats screen displays kills, deaths, and assists, the latter proves elusive. Unlike many games, damage dealt doesn't contribute to assists. Assists are exclusively earned by supporting teammates through healing, shielding, or incapacitating enemies, setting them up for the finishing blow.
This naturally favors healers and tanks. If you're a damage-focused player, achieving assist-based challenges requires a strategic shift. Fortunately, certain characters excel at racking up assists.
While not the most potent strategist, Jeff's bubbles and stream offer significant healing flexibility, boosting teammate survivability and, consequently, assist opportunities.
Mantis reigns supreme for assist generation. Her healing abilities combined with Spore Slumber (which puts enemies to sleep) create ideal setups for teammates to score kills. The only challenge? Snagging her early in a match.
For those less inclined towards healing, Peni Parker provides excellent tank support. Her Cyber-Web Snare immobilizes enemies, making them easy targets for damage dealers—and earning you those crucial assists.
The Sorcerer Supreme offers another robust tank option. Doctor Strange's powerful shield keeps allies alive, allowing them to secure the kills while you reap the assist rewards.
Among Duelists, Storm stands out. Her Weather Control enhances allies' damage and speed, significantly increasing their kill potential and, by extension, your assist count.
This guide covers how to earn assists and the best characters to use in *Marvel Rivals*. For more, check out all the Chronoverse Saga Achievements in *Marvel Rivals* Season 1. *Marvel Rivals* is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
