Bandai Namco Ends PAC-MAN Mobile Service

Bandai Namco has dropped a bombshell - they're pulling the plug on PAC-MAN Mobile. The timing feels particularly bittersweet as the gaming icon marks its 45th anniversary this year. This mobile iteration first launched over ten years ago.

When Will PAC-MAN Mobile Disappear?

The final curtain call for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. Bandai Namco already stopped all in-app purchases starting April 1st. Die-hard fans still have until the shutdown date to get their final PAC-MAN fixes.

The gaming community's been vocal about their frustration - why completely kill the game when an offline version would satisfy players? Many feel this could've been a win-win, keeping the fun alive while still generating revenue.

This wasn't just your grandpa's PAC-MAN. Formerly called PAC-MAN + Tournaments, it packed way more than classic arcade nostalgia. Alongside the beloved 8-bit experience, it offered:

Story Mode with dozens of original mazes
Adventure Mode featuring seasonal events and exclusive cosmetics
Tournament Mode with weekly challenges across three difficulty tiers


Plus, players could customize everything from PAC-MAN himself to the ghosts and even the virtual joystick with various unlockable skins.


Why the Shutdown?

The writing's been on the wall for a while. Technical troubles have plagued the game in recent years, with bugs multiplying faster than power pellets. Many suspect these mounting issues ultimately sealed the game's fate.

Longtime players remember the golden era - fierce competition for high scores, intense battles for leaderboard dominance. Those early Android days truly captured the PAC-MAN spirit.
