by Isaac Apr 20,2025

The iconic Tim Burton Batman universe is set to expand with the release of a new novel titled "Batman: Revolution." Authored by John Jackson Miller and brought to us by Penguin Random House, this novel introduces the Burton-Verse's take on The Riddler. You can now preorder it on Amazon, ensuring you don't miss out on this exciting addition to the franchise.

"Batman: Revolution" follows up on the 2024 novel "Batman: Resurrection," also penned by Miller. Set between the events of the 1989 "Batman" and the 1992 "Batman Returns," "Revolution" draws inspiration from Burton's unproduced third Batman film, which was rumored to feature Robin Williams as The Riddler.

Here's the official synopsis for "Batman: Revolution":

*It's summer, and Gotham City is brimming with excitement. The toxic remnants of The Joker's reign have finally dissipated, just in time for Mayor Hamilton Hill to collaborate with retail magnate Max Shreck on a grand Fourth of July celebration. Yet, amidst the city's jubilation, not all is well. Batman remains ever vigilant as threats from rival gangs and masked criminals escalate daily. Concurrently, street protests are intensifying against the city's opulent displays.*

*No one feels the tug-of-war between Gotham's hope and despair more than Norman Pinkus. A humble copy boy at the Gotham Globe, he's the mastermind behind the popular "Riddle Me This" word puzzles. Yet, Norman harbors a secret: he's the smartest man in Gotham, solving crimes anonymously for years before Batman even gets a whiff of them.*

*Despite his genius going unnoticed, Norman clings to the promise of Gotham and justice—until he loses faith. Overlooked and undervalued, he devises a plan: with the aid of dangerous new allies, he stokes the city's simmering tensions to lure the Caped Crusader into a perilous game of riddles, aiming to unmask Gotham's true savior. As they confront each other, Norman, now The Riddler, and Batman unravel hidden truths about Gotham's past, setting the stage for grave repercussions on the city's future.*

Mark your calendars for the release of "Batman: Revolution" on October 28, 2025, and secure your copy through a preorder on Amazon.
