Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled his upcoming RTS-lite title, Battledom, currently in Alpha testing. This project, a spiritual successor to his 2020 hit Herodom, represents approximately two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as a closer realization of his initial vision for Herodom.
Battledom introduces dynamic RTS combat mechanics. Players freely maneuver units across the battlefield, targeting enemies and manually deploying siege weaponry. Strategic formations enhance the gameplay experience.
Players recruit units using in-game currency. Initially, units possess basic weaponry and lack armor. However, customization is key; players equip units with crafted weapons and armor to enhance stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering is essential. Players collect materials like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these upgrades at various workshops, including the blacksmith and magician's quarters.
Frenken's previous title, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. Boasting over 55 collectible heroes, 150 units and siege weapons, and historically inspired battles, Herodom also features unlockable customizations like hairstyles, body types, crops, and farm animals.
iOS users can participate in the Battledom Alpha via TestFlight. For updates and further information, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit, or explore his other App Store releases.
