Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4: A Console Testing Update from Toby Fox
Undertale creator Toby Fox recently provided an update on the console testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. While significant progress has been made, with fewer bugs reported, testing is still underway. Fox specifically mentioned that PlayStation 5 testing hasn't even begun yet.
A key development is the integration of a save transfer feature. This will allow players to carry over their saves from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo to the full release of Chapters 3 and 4 on consoles. This feature, recently made possible by newly acquired technology, is still under development, but Fox expressed optimism about its success.
With beta testing progressing well, a release date may be imminent. Fox previously confirmed a 2025 release window for Chapters 3 and 4.
Fox shared a humorous anecdote about a minigame he's been developing. His family and friends interpreted it as a "cry for help" due to the game's delayed release, prompting speculation that this minigame might actually be intended for Chapter 5. Deltarune is planned as a seven-chapter saga.
Furthermore, Fox mentioned a fan's nostalgic comment about a character named Tenna, a character previously unseen in the main game but featured in the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign in September 2022. This confirms Tenna's appearance in the upcoming Chapter 3.
Deltarune, the spiritual successor to Undertale, continues to build anticipation with its blend of familiar mechanics and a fresh narrative. Players will once again join Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving adventure.
