Dragon Age: The Veilguard Delights Fans with Surprise Free Weapon DLC

BioWare has largely shifted focus from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, yet its dedicated team quietly rolled out a compact DLC weapons pack for the game.

Dragon Age enthusiasts were stunned when the RPG’s Steam page revealed a free add-on, the Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer, yesterday. While modest, the addition is a welcome surprise given EA’s earlier stance that Dragon Age: The Veilguard would see limited future support. Following the fifth patch in January, which prioritized fixing critical bugs, new content feels almost miraculous, even if small in scope.

The Rook’s Weapons Appearances bundle is exclusive to current game owners and PC buyers before April 8, 2025. Details on the bundle’s contents are sparse, but players have discovered it unlocks Watchful skins accessible in Rook’s in-game room. It remains uncertain if the offer will extend to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X | S versions.

Just four months after its debut, Dragon Age: The Veilguard joined PlayStation Plus’ March 2025 lineup. No further plans for its future have been disclosed.
