Dragon Quest enthusiasts, take note: Dragon Quest X, a notable yet often overlooked MMORPG entry in the beloved series, is set to launch on mobile devices in Japan. This offline version, tailored for a single-player experience, will be available starting tomorrow on both iOS and Android platforms. Japanese fans can snag this version at a discounted price, making it an enticing offer for those eager to dive into the world of Dragon Quest on their mobile devices.
As highlighted by Gematsu, Dragon Quest X Offline brings the game's rich MMORPG elements, such as real-time combat, to the palm of your hand. Initially released for consoles and PC in 2022, this offline iteration offers a fresh take on the game that first debuted in 2012. Interestingly, there was a previous attempt by Ubitu to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile back in 2013, which adds a nostalgic twist to this latest release.
Unfortunately, for fans outside Japan, an international release of Dragon Quest X Offline on mobile seems unlikely at this point. The original game was exclusive to Japan, and there's been no substantial news about plans to expand its availability globally. This is a disappointment for avid Dragon Quest fans like myself, who have spent countless hours immersed in games like Sentinels of the Starry Sky and would relish the chance to explore a different facet of the series on mobile.
While we wait and hope for news on a global release, why not explore our curated list of the top 10 games we'd love to see make the leap to mobile on Android? From dream scenarios to more feasible transitions, there's a wealth of titles out there that could enrich the mobile gaming landscape.
