FromSoftware's latest venture, *Elden Ring: Nightreign*, is set to excite console gamers as test access will be exclusively available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners. The registration window opens on January 10, with testing scheduled for February. This exclusivity means that a substantial number of fans, particularly those on PC, will miss out on the early access opportunity to explore this eagerly anticipated sequel.
Bandai Namco has kept the reasons for excluding PC from the initial testing phase under wraps. However, those fortunate enough to own a next-gen console will be among the first to delve into the new game before its official launch. *Elden Ring: Nightreign* promises to continue the narrative from the original game while introducing players to a chilling new setting, offering a blend of familiar storytelling and fresh gameplay experiences.
Console players have the chance to get an early taste of *Elden Ring: Nightreign*, while PC enthusiasts are encouraged to stay tuned for any announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.
In a significant departure from tradition, *Elden Ring: Nightreign* will not feature the iconic "leave a message" function that has been a hallmark of FromSoftware's games. Project director Junya Ishizaki provided insight into this decision during an interview, stating, "We disabled the messaging feature because there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last approximately forty minutes." This change reflects the game's design, where each gaming session is condensed, and the focus is on uninterrupted gameplay within the sinister world of *Nightreign*.
