Explore Spider-Woman's Origins in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update

April is set to be a thrilling month for fans of Marvel Contest of Champions with the introduction of the captivating new champion, Spider-Woman. Joining her is another intriguing character with a contrasting style, promising a diverse gaming experience for players.

The Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering challenge as a child when she was exposed to uranium near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a serum derived from spider DNA. After a long recovery period, Jessica not only overcame the experiment's adverse effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider powers, eventually becoming the iconic Spider-Woman. Players can look forward to adding this dynamic champion to their roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another formidable champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. Designed by the Founders as one of their most lethal assassins, Lumatrix specializes in infiltration and elimination, utilizing his unique light-based powers to devastating effect.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina severely injured after a confrontation with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom forms an alliance with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also enters the scene, adding further depth to the storyline.

A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," kicks off on April 9th and runs until May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow investigates the enigmatic Eidols and enlists Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.

Dark Phoenix returns in a Side Quest titled "Dark Bounties," challenging players to hunt down champions marked with a bounty for lucrative rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" makes a comeback, inviting players to deploy their most powerful Saga champions in pursuit of Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
