Mounts are among the most sought-after collectibles in Final Fantasy XIV, and some are harder to acquire than others. The Falcon mount stands out as a classic example of this difficulty, appearing exclusively during special events. If you're eager to add it to your collection, here's a comprehensive guide on obtaining the Falcon mount in FFXIV.

Up to its most recent Dawntrail expansion, FFXIV boasts hundreds of mounts for players to unlock and utilize across their journeys in Eorzea and beyond. Among these, the Falcon mount holds a unique distinction—it’s not rare due to its scarcity but rather because of its challenging acquisition process.
The Falcon mount made its debut during the Fly the Falcon Mount campaign, celebrating the release of the Stormblood expansion in Summer 2017. Players who maintained a subscription for at least 90 days during this campaign received the mount as a special reward. Once the campaign concluded, however, the Falcon became unavailable, leaving latecomers disappointed.
Fortunately, there’s now an alternative route to acquiring this coveted mount. The recurring Moogle Treasure Trove event offers players a golden chance to earn sought-after rewards, ranging from event-exclusive earrings to mounts, minions, and furnishings.
Good fortune has smiled upon collectors this time around, as the current Phantasmagoria iteration of the event includes the Falcon Ignition Key among its prized rewards. To participate and claim any of these rewards, simply complete any qualifying duties within the game. Even activities like the GATEs at the Gold Saucer in Ul'dah count toward progress.
Additionally, the Mogpendium presents special challenges for bonus rewards, including weekly tasks and the exclusive Ultimog challenge, which resets each event cycle.
Rewards are granted in the form of Tomestones of Phantasmagoria, special tokens uniquely tied to this event. These tokens can be exchanged with the Initerant Moogle NPC, located in all three main cities, for any desired prize. The Falcon mount specifically requires 50 x Tomestones of Phantasmagoria.
The Moogle Treasure Trove Phantasmagoria event remains active in-game until Patch 7.2 launches on March 25, providing only a limited window to secure the Falcon mount before the next event iteration begins. Don’t let this opportunity slip away!
