Freedom Wars Remastered displays each Abductor's health on its torso. Players utilize various weapons and items to deplete this health and defeat the Abductor. The game features diverse damage types, each with unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons often sever body parts, Impact Damage functions similarly, playing a crucial role in combat strategy.

Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedowns. This guide explains Impact Damage and its effective use in Freedom Wars Remastered.

What is Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered?

Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. While a numerical value often accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly increase your overall damage output. Instead, it's non-elemental damage that enhances the force of your standard attacks, thus increasing the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting other reactions, creating an opportune moment to inflict substantial damage before recovery.

Unlike the visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. The Abductor staggers once the rate surpasses a specific threshold. This can be advantageous or disadvantageous. Offline play allows for charged attacks and powerful hits. However, online, staggering an Abductor might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors react uniquely to staggering; for instance, Ramosa retreats. Precise hits become more challenging during this period.

Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. Use the Manufacture Modules feature to create modules using resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Synthesise Modules combines identical modules to upgrade their effectiveness. Attach the crafted module to your weapon to enhance Impact Damage and improve staggering capabilities.

Since Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritize physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements for optimal staggering.

Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly beneficial for users of heavy melee weapons or specific ranged weapons naturally adept at building stagger.
